IN BETWEEN (2014)

A great deal of passion has gone into my latest album, *In Between*. Bearing the title and the concept of "Everything is in between where nothing is," this third solo album, produced in 2014, is now finally released. These twelve songs form the soundtrack of my recent years—an autobiographical musical journey bridging my life in Liverpool and my life in Germany.

The second track, "Liverpool—Please Tell Me How to Leave You," captures this journey perfectly. Anyone who has experienced Liverpool, this extraordinary city, will understand just how difficult it was for me to leave after twelve years.

Yet, despite its reflective theme, *In Between* is by no means a "heavy" album. Although it has a gentler feel than my previous release, *Keep It Simple*, the songs are upbeat and full of life. The arrangements are crafted with sophistication, blending folk, pop, rock, and a touch of French musette. Several tracks showcase my first instrument, the accordion—a long-standing dream of mine to highlight on an album.

Take a listen here.

Marcel Schmitz brought his talent to the drums once again, having already contributed to *Keep It Simple*. On percussion, Dirk Mankel joined in, familiar to listeners from my first album, *Top of the Tree*. I recorded all other instruments and vocals myself, layering each part carefully until *In Between* was complete. And as for the artwork—the back and the eye? Turning my back captures the feeling of having to say goodbye to people and places I love, even if only for a while. Yet the eye represents my promise to keep them in sight, to stay connected—even if from a distance. Perhaps until "All is Fine." I hope this new album resonates with everyone and brings a lot of musical joy.

TOP OF THE TREE (2008)

"So I climb on the top of the tree-
where I can see the world and the world can hear me"

In 2006, I headed into the studio to record songs that had taken shape, some even during lessons with Paul McCartney. The result was *Light*, a concept album that mirrors my journey—climbing to the top of a tree, observing the world, and singing back to it.
The album, *A Day in the Top of the Tree*, is purely acoustic, intentionally free from excessive technical enhancement. This simplicity captures the essence of the songs and lets each note breathe naturally. The beautiful artwork was crafted by Berlin-based graphic artist Annabelle von Sperber, who transformed my vision into an impressive, vibrant illustration that brings the album’s concept to life.

The album can be ordered here or digitally on iTunes & Amazon.

KEEP IT SIMPLE (2011)

"Now we're at the end of story, didn't really die in glory, something I have learned I'd like to share...
to keep it simple"

The album *Keep It Simple* may not be simple in its composition, yet the tunes remain highly accessible and catchy. Each listener can choose to either lose themselves in the melodies or delve deeper into the lyrics. The songs reflect a wide range of emotions, both musically and lyrically, inviting listeners to explore their many layers.
